The Steffy Family (Jon, Roberta, Cynthia, & Esther)

Location: Phillipines

Ministry: Jon was born and raised on the mission field of the Philippines. His parents first arrived in the Philippines in February of 1960. Jon was saved out of the ministry of Canton Baptist Temple, Canton, OH in 1970. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. from 1981-86 and in his first year surrendered to God's call on his life for missionary service. During that time he met Roberta, who was raised up out of her church in Walkerton, IN. They were married in 1984. After serving a short internship in Cleveland, OH, they began deputation in January of 1988 and arrived on the field in February of 1990. After spending time to adjust to the language they started Village Bible Baptist Church in Nov. of 1991 and continued with that ministry until August of 2003, when they turned that church over to a national pastor. After a short furlough, they took the call to pastor Bible Baptist Church of Iloilo until April of 2008, at which time they turned that church over to a national pastor.They are now preparing to go back to the Philippines as soon as they have enough funding.

Their first daughter, Cynthia, aka Cindy, was born in October of 1988 and the 2nd, Esther, was born in the Philippines in February of 1991. They are both now finishing up high school.
